The book takes the reader from the early settlement at Jamestown, to the large homes and plantations which were built in the Northern Neck along the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers, to the 18^th century struggle for freedom, the Declaration of Independence, the Revolution, and the present day restoration of these magnificent homes and churches.
